Any person of good character, eighteen (18) years of age or older, is eligible for membership in the Annandale Volunteer Fire Department.

Each application for membership must be made in writing, accompanied with a police clearance form (not required for minors). Applications are presented to the membership at the first regular meeting following the completion of the Membership Committee's investigation.

Classes of Membership

1. OPERATIONAL MEMBERS

Train and Ride the fire & rescue and emergency medical equipment including the ambulance, medic, ladder truck and water pumper.

2. ADMINISTRATIVE MEMBERS

Help with fund raising activities including BINGO and other administrative matters of the department including operation of our firefighters canteen unit.

3. ACTIVE LIFE MEMBERS

Members of AVFD for 10 years or more approved by the AVFD Board of Directors for life membership who are active in the current operation of the department.

4. INACTIVE MEMBERS

Members with approved leaves of absence for temporary periods of time such as military, family, education or other commitments

5. INACTIVE LIFE MEMBERS

Members of AVFD for 10 years or more approved by the AVFD Board of Directors for life membership who are inactive in the current operation of the department.

6. LIFE MEMBERS RETIRED

Members of AVFD for 10 years or more approved by the AVFD Board of Directors for life membership who are retired from the department.
